THE GENEROUS CHANGE PODCAST

EPISODE 4 - FAILURES, FEARS & PANIC ATTACK II

Episode 4: Failures, Fears & Panic Attack II

*Explicit! A touch of adult language in this episode.*

On day 64 of entrepreneurship, we've had some failures, a lot of fear and a second panic attack. Being self-employed, making a huge life change or taking any risk is not glamorous - it's damn hard work.

In this episode, we share our own failures & fears and an awesome exercise from the founders of Warby Parker that's making our business stronger.

Whether you're a solo entrepreneur, considering going into business with a friend or just facing a big decision, this monthly 360 exercise can help you keep your priorities in perspective, talk through the tough stuff with honesty & authenticity or get you out of the fetal position and back to kicking ass.

Big ideas:

*Failure is an option - it's inevitable. It's also one way to ensure you're trying new things. If you're succeeding at everything, you need to challenge yourself!

*Proactive vs. Reactive - fear causes reaction - usually running, screaming, crying or some other version of getting the hell outta there. Be proactive - set up a framework to tackle big, scary questions before you're deep in the fear.

*Perspective - Get someone else's! If you're a solo entrepreneur, find a mentor or a coach. If you're lucky enough to have a business partner, schedule and stick to a regular meeting with set questions about the hard stuff: fear, money, work-life balance (or imbalance) and fun (how to have more!).
